Winter color

I love the contrast of slouchy and structured, and the red bag is unexpected.

Dressed for the weather, 4.0

A sight for sore, winter-weary (already!) eyes.

Suave

These slip-on shoes are for the anonymous naysayin' commenter of our last post. There's no better place than Accountancy class to show off your raw denim, Ray-Ban style glasses, and some subtle Illini Pride.

Dressed for the weather, 3.0.

Four words: animal mittens on strings.

dressed for the weather v. 2.0

peep those moccasins!

This is my best friend DD Mui. These pictures are from the summer but that's okay because ol gurl is always ahead of the trends. Right now she's at fashion school in San Fransisco, makin mama proud. oh and don't worry boys, she's single!

Saint Marc

In the past week or so, we have seen a staggering influx of ironic holiday sweaters. This girl however, has taken an alternate route. Sarah's Marc Jacobs cardigan is the perfect piece for a low key holiday party. She compliments it with a simple black outfit, a winning smile, and a charming British accent.

Library winter neutrals.

There's nothing so refreshing as seeing an adorably dressed lady or gent in the middle of fervent pre-finals studies in the Undergraduate Library. Don't get too excited about her boots - when I asked her where she got them, she shook her head sadly and said "From my homeland." Hoping that this was code for Rantoul or Danville, I pressed on to discover that only a voyage to Taiwan would score me these fabulous cream puppies.

Fall chic.

It's a little cheap taking a street style picture of your own roommate, I know. But if your roommate was wearing checkered orange-and-brown tights, an stylish high waisted skirt, and a sassy Native American (so hot right now!) beaded belt, you'd be compelled to snap shots of her in the Recycling Room too.

SCARED?

My digicam's been under the weather lately, so I haven't been able to capitalize on the wealth of amazing halloween costumes that have been popping up in the CU. On Saturday alone I saw slutty nurses, slutty fireladies, slutty schoolgirls, and slutty sluts!

A beacon of denim.

Amidst a sea of predictable dresses and baseball caps, I found a style star dancing to their heart's content in the corner of Bomb Night. A gold star for good use of monotone and pulling off denim-on-denim to this extremely kind soul I had the pleasure of meeting - if only we could all have such bravado in our own personal fashion!

horse & carriage

This is the type of picture you always wished you had found of your mom and dad when they were young- looking stylish and happy- instead of that one polaroid from the shotgun wedding.

happy friday

David and Ben show us that caps, cut-offs and cute tees make for QTs

The lovely Paulina earns her keep at Styllini thanks in part to her puffy sleeves and shades- the bigger the better. Always.

Aisha pairs her cutoffs with a top from the St. Louis City Museum- hot find!

double feature

The lovely Lauren was caught while waiting for the bus after a hard day of work in the Art & Design building. She said "but I look so gross today!" I suppose "gross" is slang for fetching here in the C-U

Judging by Styllini, Mike only leaves the porch to switch outfits. It takes a man with a true sense of style to accessorize a perfectly fitted ensemble with spectator wingtips and a WTTW totebag. MAD PROPZ

hey mami, nice bike

Accessories like belts, flat sandals, and grey camoflauge handlebar tape always make the outfit.

Chief Styllini loves nothing more than girls who match their outfits for parties, be it accidental or intentional. For one, finding your friend is a thousand times easier. One can simply ask, "Have you seen the girl that looks like me?" and forgo that tedious name business!

Back in Black

In this post, we found a few boys who are too cool for school. Luckily, they decided to come back to campus anyway.

In case you can't tell, Zak's shirt says "Cadillac." Sorry ladies, he's taken!

Even Mike's cigarettes are black.

What a Wonderful Man

This charming fellow eloquently executes one of Chief Styllini's most highly endorsed summer trends for boys- short shorts. The plaid is a lovely foil to the stark white shorts and his sweatband is just the right accessory. With this outfit, it's as though he's saying "Last weekend at the lake house, well, ONE of my lake houses..."

Can we talk about this shirt? It has TWO sets of buttons! Two! I've never even dreamed about that! Nice work, Taylor.

Our new buddy Frederick (or as I call him, "You work at RENTERTAY-AYNMENT!") knows the importance of a snappy pair of shoes. Five stars.

Apologies for the poor quality photos. If you'd like to donate a thousand dollar SLR camera you'll receive a free dinner at Allen Hall with us.

illnastyfresh monday

Jesse's plastic sunglasses. bandanna, and mechanic's shirt might be called gas station chic

On a rare trip into the depths of Champaign, we found this charmer. Coordinating your shorts to your hair always works.

It's Raining Men

Any boy who can pull of a fair isle cardigan gets mad style props. Notice the amazing use of brights!

Evan is one of the few chambanites who remains fresh 2 def.

Books & Music

This gentleman is the perfect example of studying in style at the Undergrad Library. Note how well the Alfalfa hairstyle complements the animal-print pullover.

Daniela was a vision in plaid at the free Redwalls concert last night! This dreamy ensemble is made complete by beautiful braided sandals and, well, the lovely homemade purse? She git it from her Mawwwma.

Andrew Bird at The Canopy Club & beyond.

Sometimes friends dress the same through osmosis (Or, in the case of Andrew Bird, Imitosis?). Like, I know there were a lot of times this winter when my girl Paulina and I would both roll up in the dining hall with similar elementary school teacher jumpers and flat boots on. Obviously, Bird and his fellow bandmember Jeremy Ylvisaker have the same issue. We can't complain about their coordinating neutrals, perfectly fitted jeans, and tailored blazers.

Even in the midst of all his whistling and dreamboat mannerisms, I couldn't take my eyes of off Andrew Bird's tie, which was daintily adorned with a delicate bird. The magic is in the details. And the glockenspiel.

Ian's color choice is superb. He certainly knows how to mix it up, with a vintage women's top and...

I've fallen and I can't get up

This lovely lady lets nothing get in the way of staying sassy. Being injured would be a great excuse to exist in a greasy-haired, unaccessorized stupor, wearing sweatpants stolen from the lost and found, but despite her crutches, Ali still manages to look like a wood nymph.

Although Aisha has full use of all of her limbs, we still give her mad style points for her striking white top and vintage metallic flats. And the jeans? They're by Jessica Simpson.

ey mami

Cutie in the stripes knows how to keep it cool when the weather starts feeling straight up equatorial. Her grey shorts are just the right length. Girls, make sure you follow Annie's lead and keep the goodies under wraps when you're roaming the quad. Boys, short shorts are in this summer, jump on it! The outfit is topped off by animal print flats, a Lesportsac backpack (we told you they were in), and perfect sunglasses- A+

Marty S. says "As long as I'm not a 'Don't', you can put me up here." With that fur-lined tweed coat, we'd never dream of it.

Style tip: red accessories show off Zubat's cool colors.

Lastly, the Wall Street Journal you get with your Econ 103 book (and stack on your bookshelf in lieu of reading it) makes for great toxic clouds when one is Koffing.
